Four species of tapir inhabit the planet today. All of them are endangered.

The Tapir and Friends Wildlife Gift Shop is the primary fundraising program of the Tapir Preservation Fund, a 501(c (3) non-profit organization run by its founding President, Sheryl Todd of Astoria, Oregon, for the conservation of the four endangered species of tapir. These little-known “living fossils” are – surprisingly – related to the horse and rhinoceros.

The gift shop has stuffed animals, plastic animals, jewelry, mugs, puzzles, puppets, and animal collectibles that feature a variety of birds, insects, wildlife, endangered, and extinct animals.
